Unequal Angle
Unequal Leg Angle (UA) having one longer leg can provide additional strength in a continuously restrained arrangement when compared to Equal Leg Angle of a similar size. Steel angles are typically used for frames, sub-frames, composite and truss structures as well as brackets. Steel angles are ideal for structures that are both light weight and long lasting and can provide reinforcing at edges of a surface to prevent buckling and thus allowing structures to support greater loads. Steel angles are also ideal for corner pieces where the flat legs make ideal connection points.
Additional information regarding the properties of UA sections can be found Here.
