Square Hollow Sections
Square Hollow Sections (SHS), Rectangular Hollow Sections (RHS) and Circular Hollow Sections (CHS) have been considered the most versatile and efficient form for construction and mechanical applications. They have a good strength to weight ratio and are often used for columns, bracing and beams. Hollow sections come in both hot and cold rolled with the difference being that unlike hot rolled sections where the member is made as one piece, cold formed sections start off as a flat sheet before being rolled and welded.
Additional information regarding the properties of RHS sections can be found Here.
